"It's okay to cry. We cry as men."
That's the advice this martial arts instructor gave to his student, who was battling with his emotions over the pain and difficulty of breaking a board with his left hand. According to the instructor, "It's truly vital that we, the men and fathers of this generation, do not allow our boys to grow up with a false sense of masculinity like many of us did."
The training emphasizes expressing your emotions and learning how to work through them. It's great to see young men learning that showing their emotions can be a sign of great strength instead of weakness.
Watch as he guides his student all the way from feeling his emotions, to understanding them, to moving past them in order to do something he never thought possible.
The world needs so much more of this. If you'll excuse me, I'll be taking a cue from this instructor and getting my sob on.
