WWE‘s tag team champions, The New Day, embody all of the traits that it takes to get to the top of the WWE heap: they’re brash, colorful, funny, and standouts when it comes to in-ring action. Separately, Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods were having a hard time getting over with the crowd, but all three men have found their footing and rightful place as one of the best acts in the WWE Universe. They also have one more thing riding with them: history.

Wednesday marks the 332nd day of their two combined title reigns, making them the holders of the longest ever combined reign in WWE Tag Title Championship history. Think about that statistic for one second. In this day and age when titles are passed around like hot cakes at a lumberjack competition, WWE brass have enough faith in The New Day to allow them to hold the titles for such a long period of time. And, perhaps, “allow” isn’t the right word here — The New Day have earned this.

The hip-wiggling trio surpassed Brian Kendrick and Paul London’s reign of 331 days, but it’s taken them two attempts. In order to truly usurp the former WWE Smackdown Tag Champs, The New Day will have to bring their current tally of 283 up about six weeks. That means they’ll have to survive Money in the Bank as well as the lead-up to Battleground. Should the champs still have the straps around their waists come July 20, well, there’s going to be some dancing going on.
