Now that the dust has settled on a grueling and unbelievable Western Conference Finals, the players involved finally have a chance to pause for reflection. One particular player who had a rough go of it this series and was left with a lot to process was Steven Adams, who on more than one occasion had his manhood used as target practice for Draymond Green‘s flying front kicks. Green and Adams locked horns virtually the entire way, sometimes almost literally.

It’d be hard to judge Adams for harboring some lingering resentment for his front-court foil, but after Game 7, the hirsute New Zealander proved once again that he was happy to take the high road. Via Erik Horne of NewsOK.com:

“That was a battle, bro,” Adams said. “That’s why I felt I needed to go up after the game, to just give him credit, man.”

“There was no apology from either of us. Just a congratulations.”

Despite their inability to close out the Warriors in the final three games, Adams and the rest of the Thunder gave Golden State just about everything they could handle, and then some. The respect they earned from one another – particularly Adams and Green – was forged in fire, and one of the major takeaways from this series is that the Big Kiwi is destined to be a force in this league for many years to come.
