Whenever I'm looking to buy new furniture, I immediately think of how I could improve it, if I were to take it home.
Generally the improvements involve sanding, staining, and above all — painting. But when it comes to ugly upholstery, I steer clear. I'm either going to have to pay someone to reupholster the chair or couch, or just live with it until I'm beyond annoyed with the pattern.
At least that's what I thought.
Then I saw what Andi of Delusions of Ingenuity did…
You see, she liked this chair she had in her home…but the fabric was WAY outdated.
After toying with taking on the reupholstery job herself, she came up with the idea to paint the chair.
Yes, you read that right! She chose a graphite chalk paint for the back and a white color for the front.
After a few coats…
The results were amazing!
She used painter's tape to handle the stripe down the front.
What a difference a few coats of paint make on a piece.
