Late Thursday night, Travi$ Scott released his much anticipated track “Pick Up The Phone” with Young Thug and Quavo of Migos. He’d previewed it at shows and club dates before and that was enough to get fans salivating for the song, unfortunately, according to Travi$, “labels” were preventing him from releasing it. Today, more of the story is coming to light and from the looks of it, it may have all been Scott’s fault to begin with.

Thug’s sister Dora took to Twitter to tell a slightly different story that involves Travi$ stealing “Pick Up The Phone” from Thug and making it his own. It’s hardly the first time he’s been accused of such thievery, and judging by his pleas to Thug’s label boss Lyor Cohen on Twitter it’s starting to sound true.

First Dora voiced her displeasure with the leak in general.

Really NOT HAPPY WITH THE LEAK OF #PICKUPTHEPHONE … Ppl needs to understand that leaking music isn’t cool

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Ppl too caught up in the media LIFE. Shit is a process .

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Nobody makes music for it to be leaked.. Ppl make music as a passion and desire to the fans but want to make sure it’s WELL DONE. 🙄

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

@hitun3s Yepp… Which I’m tryna map how u leak someone else song …

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

@Narshh Travis is IMPATIENT

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Then she speaks about the original version.

I love the ORIGINAL #PICKUPTHEPHONE … That other shit ain talkin bout nun.

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Then you LEAK a boss man song ON “SOUNDCLOUD” too desperate

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

And how she’d love for her brother to release the original track.

If it’s the same ONE I heard a min ago … TRASH !!!!! I love to have my brother release the REAL ONE”

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Featuring a little known artist from Delaware named Starrah.

That song is ORIGINALLY “Thugs” and a girl name “Star” ft. Quavo. It sounds so good. Give u chills hearing it

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Before blaming Travi$ and producer Vinylz for the leak.

Idk what Travis and the producer got going on .. Weirdo ass shit. 👊🏾

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Corn balls

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

@_DoraXx FACTS. this the original version in this clip right? https://t.co/raJwW2UmtC

— Slime (@WipeYaNose) June 3, 2016

@jessiexjo without MUTUAL agreements to release a song. what do u call it then?

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Then she offers more details about how Travi$ got the song.

@1princelogan they was being lenient lettin him hear and he ask to drop some vocals in it. NOT TAKE THE WHOLE SONG AND CHANGE IT AS HIS

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

As well as Thug’s relationship with Travi$ in general.

@AsapEmma18 @1princelogan thug look at Travis as a brother not a leaker/hacker

— Doraaah❤️ (@_DoraXx) June 3, 2016

Apparently, Travi$ simply removed an artist named Starrah from the track and recorded his own vocals over it, thanks to producer Vinylz.

@shumxi @_DoraXx NOPE. The producer let Travis have the session so Travis removed Starrah and claimed it was his song, meanwhile he a snake😡

— SabSaddy (@TheSabSad) June 3, 2016

Eventually 300 Entertainment A&R Zeke Hirschberg backed the story.

@_DoraXx true

— Zeke Hirschberg (@Zeke_s_hberg) June 3, 2016

@_DoraXx the only one holding it down right now

— Zeke Hirschberg (@Zeke_s_hberg) June 3, 2016

@Vinylz @trvisXX @iStarrah Why are you calling it a @trvisXX record? You part of the problem.

— Zeke Hirschberg (@Zeke_s_hberg) June 3, 2016

Don’t play with Thugs name.

— Zeke Hirschberg (@Zeke_s_hberg) June 3, 2016

@Devinwilliams_3 No comments except no one is “obviously” cool with anything

— Zeke Hirschberg (@Zeke_s_hberg) June 3, 2016

Travi$ himself tweeted out thanks to 300 boss Lyor Cohen, as well as Starrah, which is at least an acknowledgement of her involvement in some way.

THANK U LYOR. FOR FINISHING FOR ME.
THANK U 300. 😍😍
PICK UP THE PHONE DROPPING ON ITUNES IN ANY MINUTE. 😍

— TRAVIS SCOTT (@trvisXX) June 3, 2016

@Vinylz @iStarrah y’all the best

— TRAVIS SCOTT (@trvisXX) June 3, 2016

Vinylz also acknowledges Starrah’s involvement.

Love This @trvisXX record..Great vibe. Him and @iStarrah made magic out of that batch of beats I sent.. #PickUpThePhone s/o thug x quavo too

— Vinylz (@Vinylz) June 3, 2016

For what it’s worth, Starrah doesn’t seemed to be too bothered by all the drama.

Neither Lyor nor Thug have yet to comment on the song nor have they promoted via any of their social media outlets.
